This is a sneak preview into my next major project. It's called the Maybach Paladin. It is what I don't think I'm going to have to tell you, the new flagship enterprise of Maybach set for 2040.
This car was a real challenge for me, not just technically but mentally as well. The first two cars I had completed were a sports car and city car, so naturally they both focused heavily on the conventional sports styling, with conventionally components. This car however was set for 2040 and geared for something of a much higher purpose in concept.
The Maybach Paladin will be the new bench mark in astronomical class, luxury, & vehicular status. It is capable of autonomous drive, with dependent levitation propulsion. (It doesn't have wheels.) I needed to create something that was purely for the concept. Something that drove an emotion in my head into this block in my head that would slowly be shaved down into what you see will start to see before you in the coming weeks. I went through an enormous amount of changes and phases, but one thing is for certain; the car in my head is definitely what I'm looking at now.
It might seem abstract to talk about it in such a process but, from a design point of you it makes perfect sense. but getting to the point: it took about 5 hours in photoshop. Most of the time I was simultaneously watching Mad Men. I hope to releases the rest of the set in the coming weeks.
Time to Completion: 5 Hours Tools: Adobe Photoshop, Wacom Intuos 4
Hey, yes I saw the article on autoblog a while blog. However this doesn't really concern me as it's just a student project. :] If I actually worked for Maybach I'd be shitting bricks. The blog indicated that Mercedes was contemplating it btw, but no one has ACTUALLY pulled the trigger to my knowledge of killing Maybach so far. The Grosser and Pullman S600 are just rumors as well.
